Medal of Honor Warfighter will ship on two discs for Xbox 360

first_imgDeveloper Danger Close Games has confirmed Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be on two discs for the Xbox 360 version when it ships at the end of this month.Much like the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 last year, the two discs will separate the multiplayer from the story mode so at least players won’t have to swap discs mid-game. It’s not unusual for games on Xbox 360 to come on two disks as DVDs cannot hold the same amount of data as a Blu-ray. As the texture quality and size of games grow during this generation of consoles, two or more DVDs becomes a necessity for 360 owners. In another similar move to Battlefield 3, there might also be an optional texture install for the Xbox 360, although this has not been confirmed yet. A texture install allows players to apply HD textures to make the graphics in-game look much better, and it’s probably going to be well worth the time it takes to transfer.Danger Close Games has been spending a great amount of time making improvements to the Frostbite 2 engine to make sure the game looks fantastic on all formats. It seems they’ve been working on the console versions of the game first rather than the PC, and testing on both Xbox 360 and PS3 formats. Senior designer Ben Jones said he was particularly happy with the PS3 version of the game. The team has focused on fine tuning the lighting to make sure Medal of Honor: Warfighter ports over well to the PC from consoles. If the news of two disced MoH is disappointing, Xbox Live Gold owners are able to play the multiplayer beta now so it’s not all bad news. You can pick up the full game on October 23.via VideoGamerlast_img
