Clerical shake-up in Inishowen and east Donegal

first_imgBishop Donal McKeown has announced further clerical changes for Donegal as the number of priests in the county continues to dwindle. The changes, announced on Monday by the Derry Diocese Bishop, sees a major shake-up for parts of Inishowen and east Donegal.The changes that will take effect from August 23 will see Buncrana’s parish priest Fr Francis Bradley take over as parish priest for Burt, Inch and Fahan. However, the three parishes will remain separate following the appointment.Fr Bradley takes over reins following the retirement of Fr Neil McGoldrick. Fr Fintan Diggin CC will take charge of the day-to-day operations of Fahan.Rev Kevin Mulhern, on loan from the Society of African Missions, to be CC Burt, Inch and Fahan in addition to his ministry with the chaplaincy team of HMP Magilligan.Meanwhile, the parish priest for Urney and Castlefin, Rev Michael Porter is to take a one-year sabbatical before taking up his duties again as parish priest next year.
