Exclusive – Taylor: Swansea aren’t aiming for top four

first_img Swansea celebrate victory over Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium 1 Swansea full-back Neil Taylor has told talkSPORT the Welsh outfit aren’t getting carried away with their lofty Premier League position, saying a top four finish is an unrealistic goal for the club.The Jacks currently sit fifth in the top flight table, leapfrogging Arsenal into a Europa League qualification spot after coming from behind to beat the Gunners 2-1 at the Liberty Stadium.Victory on Sunday was the culmination of a brilliant run of form ahead of the international break, picking up nine points from their last six games.However, asked if he could see Swansea breaking into and remaining in the top four this season, Welsh defender Taylor told Drivetime: “No, it’s not something we’re concentrating on.“I know it’s a cliché, but we’re only thinking about the next game.“To get there you need a formidable squad that can cope with everything that comes at you throughout the season.“You need a massive squad to, to cope with any injury problems you might encounter, full of players who can step in and be ready straight away, and we haven’t quite got that.“As far as the top four goes, it’s not something we’re aiming for, or think we can get.“We’re just delighted with the position we’re in now.”last_img
